LG has launched the new UltraGear Evo 27GM950B gaming monitor with 2,304 Mini LED backlight zones. The screen features support for Dual Mode technology, which allows choosing between 165 Hz and 330 Hz refresh rates, while providing a brightness of up to 750 nits in SDR mode and a peak brightness of 1,250 nits in some areas when HDR technology is activated. This move comes a few months after LG shared details of the screen that will join the UltraGear Evo 52G930B, available for $1,999, and the UltraGear OLED 39GX950B in December 2025, before showing them together at CES 2026.

LG was eager to launch this screen in Japan last January, and although this did not happen at the time, LG has now opened the door for pre-orders for its new 27-inch screen in the United States. The screen is available at a much lower price compared to the UltraGear OLED 39GX950B version currently available in the American market as well. The 2,304 backlight areas are the most prominent feature of this screen, enabling it to reach ultra-precise brightness levels. It combines a 165 Hz refresh rate with a display resolution of 5,120 x 2,880 pixels, which LG markets as 5K and 5K2K.
The screen supports dual-mode technology to reach a refresh rate of 330 Hz when the display resolution is reduced to 1080p. LG has set the pre-order price in the United States at $1,199.99, with deliveries scheduled to begin in early May. The company is also offering a special offer that includes a two-year premium care plan for only one dollar, and this offer continues until next May 3.
