Lenovo recently unveiled its flagship Legion Tablet Gen 5, equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor to enhance the mobile gaming experience. Although the company is keen to update its lineup of gaming tablets on an annual basis to provide the latest technologies to users, the phone market has not witnessed any new version bearing the Legion brand since the launch of the Y70 phone in August of 2022, so the company has moved away from this path for a long time.

Going back a little, the Lenovo Legion Y70 phone made its first and successful appearance in global markets during the year 2022, relying on the powerful Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor. This version succeeded in positioning itself as a fierce and direct competitor to the powerful RedMagic 7S series of phones and the ROG Phone 6 from Asus, but for an unknown reason, the company stopped updating this series or issuing new generations of its gaming phones after this successful release.

It seems that the famous gaming phone series is preparing for a strong and sudden return to the markets after monitoring a completely new model that has not yet been launched. During a recent technical event held in China, a Lenovo representative appeared carrying an unknown smartphone bearing the Legion brand, as the initial images circulated on the Chinese Weibo platform showed a back design very similar to the design of the Edge 70 phone from Motorola, with a rectangular camera island located in the upper left part of the back of the phone.

The rear camera island, which is clear in the leaks, includes three advanced lenses, along with a flash unit for lighting, and the famous Legion logo appears directly below it to confirm the device’s identity. Although the front end of the new phone has not appeared in any leaks so far, with the absence of precise details about the confirmed hardware specifications, technology experts expect this upcoming device to be a direct and strong competitor to the RedMagic 11 Pro phone, the leader in the world of mobile gaming.

If these promising expectations are true, it is very likely that the new phone will be launched equipped with the powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor and a screen that supports ultra-fast refresh rates. The device will undoubtedly need a huge battery and an advanced, integrated cooling system to control the heat, similar to the Black Shark external coolers that are available at a price of $32.24, and given that the phone has already appeared in a public place, followers expect Lenovo to officially announce it very soon.
