An internal beta version of the One UI 9 interface based on Android 17 for the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra phone was found on Samsung servers, weeks after the launch of the first beta version of Android 17 for Google Pixel phones in mid-February.
According to reports, the trial version targets the phone with the model number SM-S948B designated for global markets, and the size of the update is about 2.6 GB.
The Sammobile team has already been able to install the version on the phone, but, as is usual with the first beta versions, it does not include a large number of new features yet.

Android 17 is expected to bring a set of internal improvements aimed at raising performance and improving battery consumption.
It will also require app developers to improve app support for larger and wider screens, such as those found on foldable phones, especially when published via the Google Play Store.
Among the expected features is also Google’s introduction of a new feature similar to Apple’s Handoff function, which will allow users to easily continue working between different devices.
For example, a file or browser tab can be opened on a phone and then followed directly on a tablet or computer running the Android system with one click. This may also include system applications such as email.
