The Power On bulletin published by Mark Gurman revealed new details regarding the upcoming iOS 27 update from Apple. This time, the company is focusing on rearranging the internal structure of the system, updating old applications, and making minor modifications to the Liquid Glass interface, in the hope of improving performance and extending battery life.

Previous reports had indicated that iOS 27 would put stability and performance improvement at the top of its priorities. Today, the report explains the mechanisms that Apple will adopt to achieve this, as it will work to remove the remains of accumulated old codes, make limited improvements to the interface without radical changes, in addition to developing some old applications in an unobtrusive manner to increase their efficiency.

Gorman described iOS as an internal programming chaos. In recent years, many users have noticed an increase in software errors and a decline in smoothness and battery performance, although the quality of Apple’s software was previously one of its most prominent strengths.

In this context, engineering teams within the company seek to invest in the code cleaning process to achieve efficiency gains, which may be directly reflected in battery life. However, it is not yet clear whether Apple will market these improvements as a major feature or will consider them a natural result of system reorganization.

Moreover, Apple continues to develop artificial intelligence features within iOS 27. Previous reports had indicated that some Siri promises announced during WWDC 2024 would be postponed to this version.

The company is also working on developing a more advanced version of Siri closer to the intelligent conversational model, with more details expected to be revealed closer to the developer conference in June.
