Intel revealed new results for the Core Ultra 5 250K Plus processor in the Arrow Lake Refresh series, and tests on Passmark showed a noticeable improvement in performance. This processor will replace the 14-core Core Ultra 5 245K, and now comes in an 18-core configuration including 12 E-cores and 6 P-cores.

While previous Geekbench tests showed close single-core performance and low multi-core performance, the new Passmark results showed a significant improvement, as the processor recorded a 2.1% increase in single-core performance, and an impressive 16.3% increase in multi-core performance, which reflects the power of the additional cores and higher boost speeds for the P and E cores by 100 MHz.

When compared to the AMD Ryzen 5 9600X processor, the Core Ultra 5 250K Plus recorded a 66% superiority in multi-core tests, while its single-core superiority was a modest 4%.

The Ryzen 5 9600X is expected to remain superior in gaming performance, although the Core Ultra 5 250K Plus improved in multiple tests.

Additionally, the Arrow Lake Refresh lineup also includes the Core Ultra 7 270K Plus with four additional E cores and higher turbo speeds, while the Core Ultra 9 290K Plus has been canceled due to product overlap beyond Intel’s wishes.
