IKEA has launched a new software update for the Dirigera smart controller, version 2.934.0, with the aim of enhancing the stability and efficiency of operation of the home appliances associated with it. This release comes about a month after the previous update, which focused at the time on improving the performance of the Thread network and addressing issues related to moving devices compatible with Matter technology between different rooms within the house.
The new update mainly focuses on improving the process of setting up and connecting devices that support the global Matter protocol, making it smoother and more stable than before. This step came in response to complaints from some users who faced difficulties in pairing new devices or were exposed to unexpected interruptions in communication, especially with products that IKEA recently launched between the end of 2025 and the beginning of 2026.
In addition to the Matter improvements, the changelog for version 2.934.0 includes a resolution to a technical issue experienced by users of Bilresa remote controllers. The company addressed a software vulnerability that prevented users from controlling or adjusting the volume of music when it was paused on the smart speakers connected to the system, which restores full smooth control to users.
IKEA relies on distributing this update on an automatic transmission system via the IKEA Home smart application, as the update will reach users’ Dirigera Hub devices without the need for manual intervention. Although the launch process has begun, the company has not set an exact timetable for the completion of the update’s arrival to all users around the world, as it is being done gradually to ensure the safety of the devices.
These continuous updates represent part of IKEA’s strategy to strengthen its position in the smart home market and provide a user experience free of technical defects. By focusing on the Matter standard, the company seeks to ensure the compatibility of its devices with various other global systems, which makes it easier for consumers to build an integrated smart home environment based on the Swedish company’s various types of products.
