Google announced an expanded repair program for the Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL phones after increasing user complaints about screen problems. This decision comes in conjunction with extending the Pixel 9 Pro Fold’s warranty to up to 3 full years.
The new program includes Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL devices that suffer from screen flickering or the appearance of a vertical green line, as these devices will receive free technical support and repairs for up to three years from the date of purchase.
However, Google has clarified that any device with a broken screen or damaged protective glass will not be eligible to benefit from this program. Water damage may also be excluded from coverage.
Regarding the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, the company extended the warranty to include an additional 3 years of support, although it did not precisely specify the types of malfunctions covered.
But it noted that issues that affect the device’s performance and basic functions will be eligible for free replacement or repair. This will likely include screen repairs at no additional cost to users.
Google confirms that only devices that are not damaged by breakage or water will benefit from this initiative, while some users may receive a complete replacement device if the problem clearly affects daily use.
