Apple has released the first iOS 26.5 beta to developers, along with similar updates for iPadOS, macOS, VisionOS, and watchOS, just one week after rolling out the stable version of iOS 26.4.
The new update offers a set of minor improvements and bug fixes, in addition to some notable additions, including new purchase options within the App Store.
The system also adds a “Suggested Places” section within the Maps application, which appears within the search bar, in a move that reflects Apple’s move towards enhancing interactive and perhaps advertising content within the application.

On the other hand, the update supports the RCS feature in messages, in addition to improvements in connecting accessories, and support for Live Activities for external devices within the European Union.
It also includes a new keyboard for the Inuktitut language, along with improvements in sharing attachments between iPhone and Android devices, with a reference to an upcoming feature titled “2026 Summary” within the Books app.
