Apple has released a new update for its iOS system to fix the spying error in its famous FaceTime application by launching update No. iOS 12.1.4, which is now available for all devices. On Thursday, Apple released version 12.1.4 of the iOS operating system, which is an update for iPhone phones. This update came to fix a bug in the FaceTime application, as there was a vulnerability that allowed users to eavesdrop on each other.

The update is available for iPhone 5S and later, iPad Air and later, and iPod Touch 6th generation. Last week, Apple Group discontinued FaceTime after discovering a flaw that allowed iPhone users to call another device via the FaceTime video chat service and hear audio on the other end before the recipient answered the call.

Apple said on Friday that it had fixed the vulnerability on its servers and that it would release an update to FaceTime to re-enable the software and work properly. Apple also apologized to users who were affected and said it takes the security of its products “very seriously.”

The new release notes for iOS 12.1.4 state that there is a “logical issue” with Group FaceTime and that it has been fixed as of 10 a.m. PT on Thursday, and that FaceTime service is restored.

Apple said it has fixed a previously unknown issue with FaceTime’s live photo feature, “in addition to addressing the reported bug. Apple also said its team conducted a comprehensive security audit of the FaceTime service and made additional updates to both the FaceTime app and server to improve security,” an Apple representative said in an emailed statement.

Apple also said that this vulnerability had not been previously identified in the Live Photos feature of FaceTime, and to protect customers who had not upgraded the software, it had updated its servers to prevent the Live Photos feature from FaceTime for older versions of iOS and MacOS.

CEO Tim Cook called for more regulation of privacy, criticized companies that use data to create personalized ads, and called on everyone to update phones to close the security vulnerabilities that Apple frequently sends out.
