A new report indicates Samsung’s intention to offer the Scam Detection feature by default on its upcoming foldable phones, including the Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Z Flip8, in addition to another foldable device referred to as the Wide Fold.
This information came through code within the latest beta version of the Phone by Google application, where references to support for the Gemini AI-powered feature appear on the new generation of Samsung foldable phones. The fraud detection feature currently only works within the United States, but Samsung may seek to expand its availability geographically.

The code also includes several different models that are expected to be launched in multiple markets, which enhances the possibility that the feature will not be limited to the United States for a long time. Google already supports this feature on Pixel 9 and Pixel 10 devices in several countries, which supports Samsung’s move to adopt it more widely.
Samsung is expected to unveil the new generation of its foldable phones during the month of July during a dedicated Unpacked event.
