Technology experts have warned of the existence of 4 applications used by a company called (Sensor Tower) to secretly collect the data of millions of users. This company (Sensor Tower), a famous analytics platform for technology developers and investors, used 20 similar applications whose main purpose was to collect user data without their knowledge in order to use it in other matters. These applications have more than 35 million downloads.
These applications are:
Adblock Focus application: Available for Android and iOS.
(Free and Unlimited VPN): Available for Android.
Luna VPN app: Available for Android and iOS.
Mobile Data application: Available for Android.
Many application development companies use some of these methods to steal user data and sell it to other companies with the aim of using it for advertising purposes or to influence something. A report published by “buzzfeednews” stated that millions of people who installed popular VPN and ad-blocking applications for Android and iOS had their data secretly collected by those applications.
The aforementioned company disclosed that it only collects anonymous usage data and analytics, integrated into its products, pointing out that the application intelligence platform in (Sensor Tower) is used by developers, publishers, and others to track the popularity of applications, usage trends, and application revenues.
