Xiaomi announced its readiness to launch the second and new version of the TV Stick HD streaming device in global markets soon. This innovative device recently appeared on its global website, confirming the approaching date of its official launch. This step comes about eight months after the unveiling of the TV Stick 4K version, offering Xiaomi a new economical option based on the Google system and supporting HDR10+ technology with noticeable improvements in processor performance compared to the previous generation.
This small device is designed to be connected to any monitor or TV to give users full and quick access to the Google TV platform. This advanced platform provides a very wide range of popular entertainment applications, including Netflix, YouTube, and the Apple TV application, in addition to support for Google’s voice assistant to receive voice commands and the wireless screen sharing feature from mobile phones, with support for 1080p resolution with a refresh rate of 60 Hz and advanced audio technologies.
The device relies on the standard HDMI port to connect to screens and requires a connection to a wireless Internet network to provide an integrated entertainment experience. This version supports dual-band Wi-Fi networks at frequencies of 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, in addition to Bluetooth 5.0 technology to ensure a stable and fast connection. It comes with a practical and comfortable remote control that contains dedicated buttons for quick access to the voice assistant and Netflix, Prime Video and YouTube applications with one click.
The new streaming device works with a Mali G31 MP2 graphics processor coupled with a Cortex-A55 quad-core main processor to ensure smooth performance. These hardware configurations offer a significant improvement in CPU performance of 38 percent compared to the older Mi TV Stick. The device features an elegant design and a very compact circular body with dimensions of 107.4 x 30 x 14 mm, making it easy to carry and perfectly hidden behind screens without distorting the overall appearance.
Details of the exact date of launching this device in global markets and its official prices remain unknown at this moment, awaiting Xiaomi’s upcoming announcements. But the price of the most powerful version, TV Stick 4K, which was previously launched in European countries such as Germany, can be guided by a suggested retail price of 59.99 euros to form an approximate idea of the expected cost, as home entertainment enthusiasts are anticipating the launch of this economical device to obtain a smart viewing experience at a reasonable cost.
