During the MWC 2026 Mobile World Show in Barcelona, Xiaomi revealed a complete model of its Vision Gran Turismo concept car, a virtual electric car designed specifically for the Gran Turismo game series.

This participation represents a notable achievement, as Xiaomi has become the first technology company invited by series creator Kazunori Yamauchi to join a group of 36 global automakers participating in the Vision GT program.

The car’s design philosophy, called “Sculpted by the Wind,” is based on achieving a balance between low air resistance and high air pressure.

Instead of using traditional wings, the car relies on the Active Wake Control system to dynamically control airflow through an array of micro-perforations.

Other innovations include Accretion Rims, fixed magnetic wheel covers that reduce air turbulence, as well as a teardrop-shaped cockpit, giving the car a drag coefficient of 0.29 and an aerodynamic efficiency of 4.1.

As for inside the car, Xiaomi has moved away from the usual strict designs of supercars, and followed the “Sofa Racer” concept, which relies on a continuous ring structure and three-dimensional woven natural fabrics to provide a comfortable capsule-like environment. The cockpit runs on Xiaomi HyperOS, which includes:

  • Xiaomi Pulse: 360-degree smart assistant based on light and sound
  • HyperVision: a dynamic interface that adapts to driving or navigation data
  • Steer-by-wire: A steering wheel with a ring design that integrates digital and physical control

The car is also fully integrated with the Xiaomi “Human x Car x Home” system, taking advantage of the XiaoAi Assistant and the basic MiMo models, to act as a smart companion that connects to the user’s personal devices.

Although it is currently a prototype, Xiaomi intends to make the car available for play in Gran Turismo 7, with specific dates to be announced in the future.
