The X platform, owned by entrepreneur Elon Musk, is testing a new ad format that displays product and service recommendations directly below posts that mention companies or their products.

Satellite Internet

According to a report published by TechCrunch, a user of the platform in Europe noticed that a proposal to subscribe to Starlink’s satellite Internet service appeared under a post praising the quality of service in Portugal, as the link leads users directly to the service’s website.

This experience comes as part of the platform’s efforts to develop its advertising tools, as Nikita Bier, Head of Products at X, explained that the goal is to present a new advertising model that integrates seamlessly with the content and does not look like a traditional advertisement.

The feature is still in the limited testing phase, as a dedicated space for this type of advertisement has been spotted under some posts, but it does not appear to all users yet, as it is being tested in specific markets.

This step coincides with the platform’s recent launch of a “paid partnership” tag for content creators, within the framework of enhancing transparency in promotional publications and adhering to the rules of advertising on social media networks, which may contribute to attracting more advertisers to the platform.
