Sources revealed to Cairo 24 that the chances of Qatar hosting the next camp for the Egyptian national team are slim, even though the Egyptian Football Association has not yet been officially notified of the cancellation of the Qatar Friendly Festival, on the sidelines of which the Egyptian national team’s matches against Saudi Arabia and Spain will be held on March 26 and 30, respectively.
The sources added that the possibility of holding a friendly between Egypt and Saudi Arabia in Cairo exists and is on the table, and several other options are being discussed regarding the friendly between Egypt and Spain.
The sources indicated that the file of the next camp for the Egyptian national team and the fate of the two friendly matches of the Pharaohs against the national teams of Saudi Arabia and Spain will be decided in the coming hours, by agreement between all parties, to ensure that the two friendly matches are held on the date specified for them.
Earlier, Ibrahim Hassan, director of the Egyptian national team, confirmed in statements to “Cairo 24” that all solutions are on the table in order to save the camp, whether by hosting national teams in Cairo or traveling abroad to set up the camp there.
The Pharaohs national team director indicated that the March camp will be the most important in preparing the team for the 2026 World Cup, explaining that the Egyptian national team’s technical staff is working to ensure the best technical and physical preparations for the players before starting the tournament.
