The Spanish club Barcelona’s youth team reserved its place in the final match of the Spanish King’s Youth Cup, after achieving a marathon and exciting victory over its counterpart, Deportivo La Coruna, with a score of 3-2 after an extension to extra time, in the semi-final match that brought them together today, Thursday.

The match witnessed the participation of the young Egyptian professional, Hamza Abdul KarimHe was included in Barca’s starting lineup, where he performed well and contributed to his team’s control before he was substituted in the 60th minute of the match.

Dramatic scenario and Barcelona qualifies

Barcelona opened the scoring early to advance with a clean goal, and maintained its advantage thanks to the brilliance of its players, including the decisive intervention of Alex Campos in the 48th minute to cut off a dangerous pass from Pablo Garcia inside the area, before Deportivo La Coruna equalized in the second half.

Barcelona’s youth succeeded in adding the second goal and taking the lead, and while the match was heading in Barca’s favour, Deportivo La Coruna succeeded in equalizing in the fatal minutes before the end of regular time of the match, and in the 112th minute of the second extra period, Barcelona had the decisive word by scoring the third goal and winning.

Exemption from the Egyptian national team

In a related context, Wael Riad, the coach of the Egyptian youth national team, born in 2007, had decided to exempt Hamza Abdel Karim from joining the team’s next camp, which is scheduled to be held from 23 to 31 March, which will witness the playing of two friendly matches against the Algerian national team.

The technical staff explained that this decision comes within the philosophy of dealing with professional players, out of concern for the player’s interest and the development of his technical and physical level, and in appreciation of his official and fateful connections with the Barcelona youth team during the period of the current international agenda, which culminated today in reaching the King’s Cup final.
