The General Authority of Meteorology revealed the weather conditions today, Thursday, March 19, 2026, as the country is witnessing a state of instability in weather conditions in most parts.

The authority explained in its statement that the country is characterized by active winds ranging in speed from 30-50 km/h, causing sand and dust in some areas, and this is accompanied by a drop in temperatures, with values ranging from 3-5 degrees in most areas.
Rainfall locations
The authority indicated that there are chances of light to moderate rain, which may be thundery at times, on areas of the northern coasts and Lower Egypt. It may be heavy at times in some areas, and may reach torrential rains on some areas of the Gulf of Aqaba and Sinai, at intermittent intervals.
She noted that there are chances of light rain falling on areas of the canal cities, Greater Cairo, and northern Upper Egypt, which may be moderate, with an incidence of approximately 30%, in some areas at intermittent intervals.
The winds will be active in most areas, and may cause sand and dust in some areas, and may lead to a deterioration of horizontal visibility to less than 1,000 metres, in areas of northern and southern Upper Egypt, the Western Desert, and the Red Sea Governorate at intermittent intervals.
The authority stressed avoiding standing under trees, billboards, and dilapidated houses, with chances of floods forming on some roads in Sinai and the Gulf of Aqaba. Thunderclouds may be accompanied by an incidence of approximately 30%, with the possibility of lightning strikes with hailstones falling on some areas, with strong wind activity, as a result of the air descending from beneath the thunderclouds in some areas.
