Initial investigations revealed the details of the death of the child Youssef Muhammad, a 12-year-old first-year middle school student, inside the swimming pool complex at Cairo Stadium, during his participation in the Republic Short Course Swimming Championship held inside the stadium during the period from November 27 to December 25.
According to the examination, it was found that after one of the championship races ended and the contestants left the swimming pool, those in charge of the competition noticed that the deceased child had not left, but he was then found inside the bathroom without moving.

Mustafa Hani, the child’s swimming coach, confirmed that they realized his absence immediately after the end of the race, explaining that he did not go out with the rest of the contestants, which prompted them to search for him inside the pool, only to find him drowned.
The child’s father, who works as a computer technician, officially accused the president of the swimming federation and those organizing the tournament of negligence and negligence in safety and follow-up procedures inside the swimming complex.
The Public Prosecution is investigating the incident to determine its circumstances and determine legal responsibilities.
