Trump explained, in a speech reported by Reuters, that initial estimates indicated that eliminating Iranian military leaders might take four to five weeks, but the operation was completed in just one hour, as he described it, noting that the United States is “significantly ahead of the expected timetable,” with the ability to continue for a longer period if necessary.
He added that Iran was on the verge of possessing missiles capable of reaching the United States, stressing that American forces sank ten Iranian ships during the operations.
In a related context, Trump announced the killing of four American service members, describing them as “heroes,” and offering condolences to their families, stressing that the mission continues “with an unrelenting determination to crush the threat” posed by the Iranian regime, as he put it.
