The US State Department issued an urgent warning to US citizens in Iran, calling on dual US-Iranian nationals to leave the country using Iranian passports.

In its statement, the US State Department also urged US citizens to consider leaving Iran by land via Armenia or Türkiye, if it is safe to do so.
The US State Department confirmed that American citizens inside Iran face great risks, including interrogation, arrest, and detention, noting that Internet services are expected to continue to be interrupted, and calling on American citizens to plan alternative means of communication.
In a separate context, the US State Department announced that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio discussed, during a meeting held in Washington with the President-elect of Honduras, ways to enhance stability in Venezuela, as part of US efforts to deal with developments in the political and security situation in the region.
