US President Donald Trump commented on Iran targeting a gas field in Qatar, after Israel bombed the South Pars gas field, stressing that America was not aware of this.
Trump said in a post on Truth Social: In response to what happened in the Middle East, Israel launched a violent attack on a gas field south of Pars in Iran, and that the attack targeted part of the field.
He continued: The United States was not aware of this attack, and Qatar was not involved in it in any way, and did not expect it to occur. Unfortunately, Iran was not aware of this, nor of any of the facts related to the attack on the field, so it unprovokedly attacked part of the Qatari liquefied natural gas facility.
He continued: Israel will not launch any further attacks on the important and valuable South Pars field, unless Iran recklessly decides to attack an innocent country, which is Qatar. In this case, the United States of America, with or without Israel’s help, will blow up the entire Pars field with tremendous force that Iran has never witnessed before.
He concluded: I do not want to allow this level of violence and destruction because of its long-term repercussions on the future of Iran, but if the Qatari liquefied natural gas pipeline is subjected to another attack, I will not hesitate to take the necessary measures.
