Today, Monday, March 23, 2026, the fourth day of Eid al-Fitr, South Sinai Governorate is witnessing continued low temperatures, active winds in the Gulf of Suez and Aqaba, light to moderate rain that may be thundery at times in the cities of South Sinai, and cold weather at night, and in the early hours of the morning, especially in the city of St. Catherine, which is witnessing a drop in temperatures to about two degrees, frost at night, and frost on the mountaintops.
For its part, the Meteorological Authority stated that today, Monday, cold weather prevails in the early morning, tending to warm to warm during the day, in most parts, hot in southern Upper Egypt and cold at night, and chances of light to moderate rain that may be thundery in areas of northern Upper Egypt, the Gulf of Suez, Aqaba, and the Red Sea Governorate at intermittent periods, and chances of light rain in areas of the Matrouh Desert, the northern coasts, and northern Lower Egypt, which may extend by 20% to areas of southern Upper Egypt and Cairo. Major winds will occur at intermittent periods, and wind activity may cause sand and dust in areas of the Western Desert, southern Upper Egypt, southern Red Sea Governorate, and South Sinai at intermittent periods.
As for the conditions of the Mediterranean Sea, it is moderate, the waves are about 2 meters high, and the winds are northwesterly. As for the Red Sea, it is also moderate, and the waves are about 2.15 meters high, and the wind direction is northwesterly.
