Many citizens are searching for today’s weather conditions in all governorates of Egypt, as the country is witnessing today, Wednesday, April 1, 2026, a state of instability in weather conditions, according to reports from the General Meteorological Authority, as low and medium clouds are spreading widely from the north of the country and extending to areas of central and southern Upper Egypt, and unstable air masses are affecting the atmosphere, leading to increased chances of rain falling at intermittent intervals.
Today’s weather conditions in all governorates of Egypt
According to the Meteorological Authority report, the weather condition today in all governorates of Egypt ranges from cold in the early morning to hot during the day in most areas, while hot weather prevails in the regions of southern Upper Egypt, and tends to cool at night in the various governorates.
The forecast also indicates chances of rain of varying intensity, which may be light to moderate, and reach heavy and sometimes thundery, in some areas, especially the northern coasts and Lower Egypt governorates, with it gradually extending to Greater Cairo and some areas of Upper Egypt.

Today’s weather in Cairo now
Regarding the weather today in Cairo now, the weather is hot during the daylight hours, with the appearance of dense clouds at intervals, and chances of light to moderate rain that may be thundery at times during intermittent periods.
Cairo records maximum temperatures in the range of 27 degrees Celsius, and lows of about 18 degrees, with noticeable wind activity that may affect the perception of temperature and lead to a decrease in horizontal visibility at times, especially with the stirring of dust.
It is also expected that the chances of rain will increase as the hours of the day progress, to include various areas of the capital, coinciding with the extension of rain clouds from the northern regions.

Weather conditions in Egypt’s governorates
Regarding the weather condition in the governorates of Egypt, today the governorates of Egypt are witnessing a variation in weather conditions, as the northern coastal governorates such as Alexandria, Matrouh, Damietta and Port Said are exposed to moderate rain that may be heavy and thundery at times, with active winds.
In the Lower Egypt governorates of Kafr El-Sheikh, Dakahlia, and Beheira, chances of moderate to thundery rain continue at intermittent intervals, with the proliferation of cumulus clouds.
As for the Canal cities, such as Ismailia and Suez, they witness a state of weather fluctuations with chances of light to moderate rain, which may increase in intensity in the evening.
In northern and central Upper Egypt, such as Fayoum, Beni Suef, and Minya, rain clouds will gradually expand, with chances of light rain that may be thundery at times.
Areas in southern Upper Egypt, such as Assiut, Sohag, Qena, Luxor, and Aswan, are also exposed to relatively hot weather during the day, with weak chances of scattered rain in some areas.
The Sinai and Red Sea regions, such as Sharm El-Sheikh, Hurghada, and Marsa Alam, are witnessing active winds, with weak chances of light rain falling in some areas.

Meteorology today
Regarding today’s meteorology, the General Meteorological Authority announced that the country is witnessing today a state of atmospheric instability as a result of its influence by unstable air masses, with the clear appearance of rainy cumulus clouds on satellite images.
The Authority explained that there are chances of rainfall of varying intensity over large areas, including the northern coasts and Lower Egypt, extending to Greater Cairo, the Canal Cities, and northern Upper Egypt, and the rains are sometimes thundery.
It also warned of active winds whose speed ranges from 30 to 50 km/h, and its gusts may reach 70 km/h in some areas, which leads to stirring up sand and dust and lowering horizontal visibility to less than 500 meters in some areas.

Meteorology confirmed the possibility of hailstones falling and lightning and thunder strikes occurring in some governorates, especially with active thunderclouds, stressing the need to be careful while driving and avoid open spaces.
The authority called on citizens to continuously follow weather forecasts, and take the necessary precautions during periods of rain and wind activity, while adhering to public safety guidelines to avoid any potential risks resulting from weather fluctuations.
