A news agency reported The UAE Today’s Friday sermon in all mosques in the United Arab Emirates will bear the title “The Emirates… Championships and Victories,” according to what was announced by the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat.
The Authority explained that the sermon will be circulated nationwide, noting that it will address “the UAE’s readiness and preparedness,” in addition to reviewing its efforts to enhance the efficiency of its armed forces and raise the level of preparedness.
The choice of this title comes in light of recent regional developments, most notably reaching a temporary ceasefire agreement between the United States and Iran, after confrontations that lasted about 40 days, which cast a shadow over the political and security scene in the region.
Holding Iran accountable and compensating for losses
In a related context, the UAE expressed its careful follow-up to the announcement of Donald Trump, President of the United States of America, regarding a two-week ceasefire between the United States and Iran, stressing its endeavor to obtain further clarifications regarding the terms of the agreement in order to ensure Iran’s full commitment to immediately halting any hostilities in the region and reopening the Strait of Hormuz completely and unconditionally.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs explained in a statement that the treacherous Iranian attacks that targeted infrastructure, energy facilities, and civilian sites during the past 40 days, which included about 2,819 ballistic missiles, mobile phones, and drones, and the resulting human and material losses require taking firm stances, with Iran being held accountable and fully compensated for the damages and losses.
