The court, headed by Counselor Abdel-Ati Masoud Shuala, President of the Court, and with the membership of Counselors Hisham Sharif Al-Basiouni, Tamer Ahmed Ashra, and Mustafa Ahmed Suleiman, decided during its last session on February 15 to postpone the trial to today’s session for the Public Prosecution’s pleading.
The first trial session witnessed the defendant denying the accusations against her and not killing her daughter. The defendant’s defense team also demanded that the defendant be referred to psychiatry to determine her mental state at the time of the incident, and whether she was suffering from mental illnesses that required her to be placed in a specialized clinic for treatment.
The village of Darshaba, affiliated with the Rahmaniyah Center in Beheira Governorate, witnessed a hideous incident after a housewife hid her 6-month-old daughter inside the closet, to accuse her former fiancé of kidnapping and killing her, to take revenge on him because of disagreements between them. She was informed of the child’s absence, and after they returned home, she found her dead body.
The details of the incident date back to September 30, 2025, when the security services in the Buhaira Security Directorate received a notification from the warden of the Rahmaniyah Police Station, stating that a housewife had reported that her 6-month-old daughter was absent from the house. The security services immediately moved to the location of the report and upon examination, the body of the child was found inside the closet.
The body was kept at the disposal of the investigating authorities, a report was drawn up regarding the incident, and it was presented to the investigating authorities to take the necessary legal measures.
