Today, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, chaired the weekly government meeting, at its headquarters in the new capital. To discuss a number of files and topics.

Each ministry will be responsible for activating procedures to rationalize its electricity consumption

The Prime Minister began the meeting by talking about the current scene in the region, which is rife with escalating tensions due to military events and operations, which imposed negative repercussions and impacts on the global economy, saying: These tensions do not only leave behind negative effects in the political sphere, but rather their impact extends to energy markets, supply chains, trade movement, the cost of financing, growth expectations, and aspects of the economy in general. Therefore, the government continues to diligently follow the repercussions of these events. So that it can move in a way that protects the stability of the Egyptian economy, secures supplies, and enhances Egypt’s competitiveness in a highly volatile international environment, and so that the national economy maintains, as much as possible, the gains it has achieved during the past period.

In light of this, the Prime Minister affirmed the firm position of the Egyptian state – led by His Excellency Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic – regarding the necessity of reducing the current escalation and tension in view of its negative effects on the security and stability of the region, and Egypt’s readiness as well to provide various forms of support to maintain the security and stability of the region, as well as condemning and rejecting the unjustified attacks on the lands of the sisterly Arab countries, and its complete rejection of compromising their stability.

Dr. Mustafa Madbouly said: This position was confirmed by His Excellency the President of the Republic during his receipt of phone calls from a number of Their Highnesses and Majesties and leaders of a number of Arab and Islamic countries during the past days, which dealt in their entirety with the regional situation in the Middle East region, and Egypt’s efforts to stop the ongoing escalation in the region and contain its repercussions, pointing out that His Excellency the President also stressed this position during the short fraternal visit that His Excellency made to both the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in confirmation of Egypt’s solidarity and full support for the sister Gulf Cooperation Council countries in light of the current regional conditions.

The Prime Minister also referred to a number of meetings held by Mr. President; To follow up on the government’s efforts with regard to supporting investment and foreign trade files and the connection between this and supporting local industry, as well as reviewing the priorities and determinants of financial policy in the short and medium term for the budget for the fiscal year 2026/2027.

In this context, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly indicated that the government – based on the directives of His Excellency the President – is working to continue the path of comprehensive institutional reform that aims to ensure financial discipline and sound governance, by rationalizing public spending, enhancing public revenues, and reducing government debt, in a way that enhances the economy’s ability to withstand the current challenges.
The government also continues to make every effort to attract more local and foreign investments, and there is great keenness to communicate directly with investors and explain the economic measures to contain the current regional repercussions.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister indicated that the Central Committee for Crisis Management will continue to hold regular meetings to follow up on developments and repercussions of the military escalation in the region, which agreed on several measures that will be discussed today in the Council of Ministers.

The Prime Minister also noted the meeting he held yesterday with members of the Advisory Committee for Political Affairs, to review and exchange visions on a number of topics and issues that have an impact on the regional and local arenas, noting that the meeting witnessed a confirmation of the state of “uncertainty” regarding the development of events in the region, but the members of the committee put forward a number of perceptions regarding expectations of calm and possibilities of escalation, and the importance of precaution and preparation for all scenarios. The various repercussions associated with these scenarios were also discussed, especially in the economic field.

The Prime Minister also reviewed the procedures for rationalizing electricity consumption in government facilities and buildings in the state’s administrative apparatus, stressing that each ministry will be responsible for activating these procedures according to what is within its jurisdiction, in light of the continuing escalation of events in the region, and the government’s around-the-clock monitoring of their repercussions and impacts on the global economy and energy markets.

In another context, the Prime Minister directed to facilitate reconciliation procedures for building violations. In an effort to close this file completely as soon as possible, he was also tasked with facilitating the registration of housing units for citizens without any administrative complications.
