The Qena Criminal Court, headed by Counselor Islam Mohamed Hamza and the membership of Counselors Ahmed Mahfouz Abdel Latif, Yasser Arafa Arif, and Abdel Basset Qamar Al-Zaman Ibrahim, in the presence of Ahmed Majed Abu Bakr, the Public Prosecutor, and the secretariat of Salah Farrag, Ashraf Khalaf, and Mohamed Salah Al-Adawi, sentenced two defendants to 20 years in prison on charges of trafficking in firearms and narcotic substances, in the Qena Police Station Department.
20 years imprisonment for those accused of trafficking in firearms and drugs in Qena
The events of the case go back to September 24 of last year, when the investigating authorities charged the defendants, Hussein S.A., 35 years old, a driver, and Alaa.B.R.D., with possession of firearms, bullets, and narcotic substances, with the intent of trafficking.
Investigations revealed that the accused formed a gang formation specializing in trafficking in narcotic drugs and firearms. A security force was able to arrest the first accused as soon as he was driving a car and found in his possession 3 automatic rifles, 5 shotguns, 220 bullets, and a quantity of narcotic hashish for the purpose of trafficking.
The case No. 4798 of 2025 Qena Felony, registered No. 4197 of 2025 Qena, was referred to the Criminal Court, which ruled that the defendants be punished with 15 years in prison and a fine of 20,000 pounds for the first accusation, and 5 years in prison and a fine of 50,000 pounds for the second accusation.
