Dr. Reverend Andre Zaki, head of the Evangelical community in Egypt, participated in the “Maundy Thursday” celebration at the Evangelical Church in Ain Shams, in the presence of Reverend Eid Salah, the pastor of the church and the people of the church, along with a number of church leaders and public figures, including Dr. Louay Mahmoud Saeed, Director of the Center for Coptic Studies at the Library of Alexandria.
Head of the Evangelical Community: We thank God for the security and stability of Egypt
The head of the sect began his speech by thanking the church pastor and the singing team for their efforts today. Under the title “He is our peace,” Dr. Reverend Andre Zaki delivered a spiritual speech in which he pointed out that the world is going through major challenges, explaining that wars are no longer just military conflicts between armies, but rather have profound effects on people’s lives, including economic crises, living pressures, and a rise in energy and food prices, stressing that “wars are destructive and destroy everything, and their effects extend to man in every detail of his life.”
He added that reality clearly reveals the difference between advocates of peace and advocates of conflict, in light of the contradiction between what is said about peace and what is practiced on the ground, stressing the importance of adhering to the values that promote true stability.
The head of the Evangelical community stressed that the Christian faith offers a different concept of peace, saying: “Peace is not a passing circumstance or the absence of crises, but rather it is the person of Jesus Christ, who gives true peace that comes from within and changes a person’s life. The peace of God is the most wonderful thing in life.”
He also called for prayer for the peace of the countries of the region, saying: We pray for the peace of our region, and we thank God for the security and stability that our country enjoys, stressing that true peace begins from within the human being, and extends to create a better reality for society and the entire world.
