I confirmed Ministry of EndowmentsThe coincidence of the celebration of the International Day of Conscience with the Day of the Palestinian Child, both of which fall on the fifth of April, represents a profound humanitarian indication that the awakening of the human conscience begins with protecting children, preserving their rights, and providing them with a safe and dignified life, as they are the hope of the present and the makers of the future.

The commemoration of the International Day of Conscience comes in implementation of the United Nations General Assembly resolution issued in 2019, which adopted this day to promote a culture of peace, consolidate the values of compassion and tolerance, and emphasize the importance of summoning human conscience in the face of crises and conflicts, in a way that contributes to building a more just and humane world.

The Ministry indicated that the suffering of the Palestinian child represents a real test of the conscience of the world, as events reveal the extent of the humanitarian challenges facing children in conflict areas, which requires concerted international efforts to ensure their protection and provide them with health, educational and psychological care.

In this context, the Ministry of Endowments appreciated the great efforts made by the Egyptian state in supporting our Palestinian brothers, especially the high humanitarian model it presented in caring for Palestinian children, including hosting a large number of premature babies who were evacuated from Al-Shifa Hospital in the Gaza Strip during the events that took place in the Strip, as Egypt provided them with full medical care until their health condition improved, in a scene that embodies the authentic values of the Egyptian state and its keenness to perform its humanitarian role.

The Ministry pointed out that the scenes of a number of these children being reunited with their families after their treatment period carried profound humanitarian connotations, confirming that saving a child’s life is in reality a revival of the values of mercy in the conscience of humanity, in accordance with the words of God Almighty: {And whoever saves a life, it is as if he had saved all of mankind}.

The Ministry of Endowments confirmed that caring for children and protecting them from the scourge of conflict is a religious and humanitarian duty, as Islam calls for mercy and care for children. Our Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “He is not among us who does not have mercy on our young and respect our elders,” which establishes the value of a living conscience that does not ignore the suffering of the weak.

The Ministry also called for inspiration from this occasion to consolidate the values of compassion in societies, raise generations to respect the right to life, reject violence, and support all efforts aimed at protecting childhood, as this is a moral duty shared by institutions and individuals.

The Ministry of Endowments directed its imams and preachers to invest these occasions in enhancing awareness of the values of human compassion, and to emphasize that building a human being can only be achieved by building conscience, and that societies that preserve their humanity are the ones that make child protection a priority that cannot be postponed.

The Ministry of Endowments reiterated its continued advocacy and awareness role in supporting noble human values and enhancing community awareness on all issues, which contributes to building a cohesive society based on compassion, solidarity and respect for humans.
