Engineer Khaled Hashem held a ministerial contract Industryan expanded meeting with leaders and employees of the Industrial Development Authority, to learn about the nature of the work of various departments, performance indicators and internal coordination, within a series of meetings aimed at setting a clear executive vision for developing performance, raising the efficiency of services, and enhancing integration between departments, in a way that contributes to improving the industrial investment environment and keeping pace with economic changes, within the framework of the Ministry of Industry’s direction towards developing the institutional work system and improving the quality of services provided to investors.

The Minister began his meeting by emphasizing that the Industrial Development Authority represents one of the most important technical arms of the Ministry for implementing the Ministry’s strategy to achieve industrial development goals, and it plays a pivotal role in direct dealing with industrial investors, making the quality of performance within it an influential element in supporting the investment climate and enhancing the competitiveness of the industrial sector.

Reviewing the method of implementing procedures across the Authority’s two main sectors

During the meeting, the services provided by each department were reviewed, and the most prominent achievements were highlighted, in addition to the challenges and demands related to the workflow, which contribute to enhancing the efficiency of performance and developing the work system within the Authority. The method of implementing procedures across the Authority’s two main sectors, namely the industrial licensing sector and the industrial lands sector, was also reviewed, with an emphasis on the importance of coordination and integration between departments, and between the Authority, the Ministry, and the rest of the bodies and concerned parties.

Dr. Nahed Youssef, President of the Industrial Development Authority, reviewed the Authority’s plan to achieve industrial development goals in all governorates of the Republic, in addition to reviewing the Authority’s organizational structure, explaining the role of each sector and department in supporting the Authority’s work and achieving its goals in serving investors and promoting industrial development.

During the meeting, the Minister directed the Authority’s employees to provide services to investors with high efficiency and professionalism, which reflects the employees’ commitment to the Authority’s role, noting that every stage in providing the service, from receiving the investor to completing the procedures, constitutes a turning point in forming a positive image of the Authority, stressing that every employee represents an essential link in an integrated system that aims to support the industrial sector and achieve economic development, and that adherence to professional controls and high efficiency is the main criterion for evaluating performance, while emphasizing the importance of quickly removing any obstacles to ensure the continuation of the effective workflow.

Accurate understanding of investors’ needs

Hashem stressed that the next stage requires establishing advanced institutional thought based on an accurate understanding of investors’ needs, so that every employee puts himself in the position of receiving the service, and deals with requests in a positive spirit that reflects the authority’s role as a supportive partner in the industrial development process, especially since improving the investor experience is not limited to simplifying procedures only, but also includes speed of response, clarity of steps, and providing practical solutions, pointing to the importance of activating the automation and digital transformation system in a practical and tangible way, for the speed and efficiency of service provision.

The Minister pointed out the importance of building an accurate and updated database for all industrial activities, which provides a comprehensive view on the conditions of factories, the market, and production lines, which contributes to supporting the decision maker, as this file receives the attention of the Ministry during the next stage, pointing out the importance of full compliance with the controls governing land files and licenses, as violations will be met with deterrent legal measures immediately to ensure justice and equal opportunities, especially since the Ministry is following these files with interest, and is keen to enhance transparency and discipline in procedures.

Hashem pointed out that the procedures in place within the Authority are established with the aim of facilitating the workflow and ensuring efficiency, in light of clear data and actual business needs, pointing out that commitment to strategic thinking, understanding the purpose of the procedures, and understanding the spirit of the law are much more important than strict adherence to the texts, explaining that the lesson lies in the final results and effectiveness of performance, and that flexibility in dealing with developments represents an essential element in achieving success and enhancing the quality of services provided to investors.

The Minister announced that the coming period will witness a repetition of these meetings for various ministry bodies, with the aim of enhancing direct communication with employees, and emphasizing that every employee in the industry system plays an important role in supporting development efforts.

For her part, Dr. Nahed Youssef, President of the Industrial Development Authority, indicated that there is a clear willingness among various departments to develop work methods, explaining that the authority’s employees enjoy a high degree of flexibility and readiness to adapt to developments, in a way that supports improving the quality of services provided, whether related to regional developments or legislative updates, in order to achieve more efficient performance and meet the needs of customers.
