Within the framework of the state’s support for the cultural movement and enhancing its role in building humanity, Dr. Jihan Zaki conducted, Minister of Cultureand Dr. Jacqueline Azer, Governor of Beheira, conducted an extensive tour that included a number of the most important cultural edifices in the city of Damanhour, in the presence of Dr. Shadi Al-Mashad, Deputy Governor of Beheira, and a number of members of the House of Representatives and the Senate.

The tour began with an inspection of the Damanhour Opera House, where a documentary film was shown covering the development work witnessed by the opera theater, which aimed to preserve the distinctive architectural character, in addition to modernizing the infrastructure and technical technologies to keep pace with the latest standards, and enhance its ability to host various events.

Dr. Jihan Zaki expressed her happiness at inspecting the opera, stressing that the next stage will witness remarkable artistic momentum through quality programs that meet the aspirations of the public, stressing continued coordination with the governorate to organize a series of major concerts and events with the participation of an elite group of senior artists, which will contribute to creating a broad cultural and artistic movement.

For her part, Dr. Jacqueline Azer said that the Damanhour Opera House represents one of the most prominent cultural edifices in the governorate, stressing the importance of maximizing its use and returning it to the forefront of the cultural and artistic scene.

The Minister of Culture and the Governor of Beheira continued their tour by inspecting the Center for Artistic Creativity in Damanhour, where the tour included the Fine Arts Hall, the Music Hall, and the Computer Halls, in addition to the “Abdul Wahab Al-Mesiri” Hall, in order to determine the available capabilities and the level of services provided.

During her inspection of the computer halls, Dr. Jihan Zaki, Minister of Culture, stressed the need to provide all capabilities to implement advanced training programs, and to rely on the latest technological means, making the center an attractive environment for the education of children and youth, while Dr. Jacqueline Azer, Governor of Beheira, stressed the importance of supporting cultural and artistic activities in all schools of the governorate in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture, which contributes to the discovery and care of gifted people.

The tour concluded with an inspection of the Damanhour Palace of Culture, where the Minister of Culture and the Governor inspected the exhibition of artistic workshops for the palace’s patrons, which reflects the extent of the artistic talents and creativity of the people of the governorate. They also inspected the Information Technology Club for children inside the Palace of Culture, and were informed of the training methods provided and the capabilities available inside the hall, where they listened to an explanation about the stages of training children to use modern technology, and teaching the correct and safe methods for using the Internet.

The Minister of Culture praised the efforts of the workers within the club and the trainers in charge of the training process, valuing their role in developing children’s skills and building their technological awareness in a sound manner.

The tour concluded with an inspection of the Women’s Club at the Palace of Culture, within the framework of supporting activities directed at women and enhancing their role in society.

It is worth noting that following the signing of the cooperation protocol between Beheira Governorate and the National Library and Archives, to revive and develop the municipal library in the Damanhour Cultural Complex, and transform it into an integrated cultural center that serves the people of the governorate, Dr. Jihan Zaki, Minister of Culture, and Dr. Jacqueline Azer, Governor of Beheira, inspected the halls of the Damanhour Cultural Complex, and the theater, to see the ongoing work to revive it and operate it effectively by organizing many cultural and artistic concerts and seminars. They also inspected the new ballet hall in the complex, which is scheduled to witness… A strong start during the coming period, to be a qualitative addition to artistic activities in the governorate.
