Major General Engineer Hani Rashad, Governor of Suez, launched the “Hand together…cleanliness is a shared responsibility” initiative, within the framework of preserving the gains of cleaning and beautification works taking place in the governorate.
The Governor of Suez stressed the importance of preserving the cultural and aesthetic appearance of the city of Suez, while spreading environmental awareness among citizens and enhancing their participation in maintaining the cleanliness of the streets and squares, in parallel with the efforts made by the executive agencies in the neighborhoods and the beauty and hygiene apparatus, and continuous follow-up by Mohamed Allam, Deputy Governor.
In this context, Suzan Al-Jundi, the initiative’s coordinator, explained that the main goal is to raise the level of environmental awareness and develop a sense of shared responsibility between citizens and executive agencies, which contributes to keeping the streets clean and enhancing the values of cooperation and teamwork to beautify the governorate.
She added that coordination will be made with the Directorate of Education and the Suez Al-Azhar District, to spread the culture of maintaining public cleanliness among students, and to invest their energies in positive actions that serve the local environment, in addition to involving them in environmental awareness campaigns.
She also indicated coordination with the Endowments Directorate to include awareness messages about the importance of maintaining cleanliness and the cultural appearance of the city, through Friday sermons and religious lessons in mosques, as part of the pursuit of achieving the “Suez Ajmal” vision.
