Major General Dr. Ismail Kamal, Governor of South Sinai, issued a directive to all employees of the General Office, affiliated local units, and service directorates in the governorate, with the need to adhere to implementing the remote work system on Sunday of every week, starting from Sunday, April 5, 2026, for a period of one month, provided that the decision is subject to evaluation and review.

The governor explained that the decision comes in implementation of the directives of the Egyptian Council of Ministers issued by Resolution No. 85 of 2026, headed by the Prime Minister, and within the framework of the state’s efforts to regulate the work environment and raise the efficiency of government performance.

He pointed out that the implementation of the decision excludes a number of vital sectors whose nature of work requires field presence, including the drinking water and sanitation company, the electricity company, the health and hospitals directorate, the ambulance authority, and the natural gas sector, in addition to school and university workers, and direct service providers to the public in the general office, local units, and service directorates.

The exception also includes those assigned by the heads of local units and directors of directorates, in coordination with the Secretary General of the governorate, to ensure the continued regularity of work and the provision of services to citizens without being affected.

The governor stressed the need to fully adhere to all procedures and controls regulating the workflow, while ensuring that the interests of citizens are not disturbed or the services provided to them are disrupted.
