Engineer Ibrahim Mekki, Governor of Kafr El-Sheikh, announced today, Saturday, that navigation and fishing traffic in Burullus Port and in the waters of the Mediterranean within the governorate will continue to cease, until weather conditions improve, according to a report by the General Meteorological Authority that the country is exposed to a wave of bad weather that leads to disruption of maritime navigation.

The Governor of Kafr El-Sheikh assigned the heads of centers and cities to deal immediately with the consequences of the possible climate changes that the governorate is witnessing, and to raise the level of readiness of the governorate’s agencies, to confront climate changes and to take all precautionary measures, stressing the continuation of efforts to maintain rain sewer and sewage networks, maintain dilapidated lighting poles, cover sewage drains, canals and drains that have been covered, and the readiness of all sweeping vehicles and cleaning equipment in the governorate’s centers and cities, and review the safety of gas lines with follow-up by the operating room. The central one in the governorate’s general office, the branch offices in the centers and cities, and the control center of the National Emergency and Public Safety Network, around the clock.

He pointed to the continuous monitoring of the website for weather forecasting, meteorology, and potential forecasts, which is published daily on the official page of the governorate.

Meanwhile, Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate calls on citizens not to carry out any marine activities, drive calmly on highways, exercise caution, avoid using mobile devices while driving, and follow all safety measures, especially on curves, in order to ensure their safety.
