Dr. Mohamed Hani Ghoneim, Governor of Fayoum, witnessed the “One Joy, Two Joys” celebration activities to deliver clothes for children and bridal equipment to girls who are unable to get married, in cooperation with a charitable organization.

This came in the presence of Dr. Mohamed Al-Tuni, Deputy GovernorMajor General Staff Dr. Hisham Abdel Samie El-Shimi, Assistant Secretary General of the Governorate, Khaled Farrag, Head of the Local Unit for the Center and City of Fayoum, Dr. Sherine Fathi, Deputy Director of the Social Solidarity Directorate, and Accountant Mohsen Rabie, President of the Regional Union of Institutions and Civil Associations in Fayoum.

The ceremony began with the national anthem, reciting verses from the Holy Quran, and a documentary film was shown about the Foundation’s activities in various aspects of social protection interventions for families in need.

The Governor of Fayoum congratulated all attendees on the occasion of the approaching Eid al-Fitr and the start of the governorate’s celebrations of its national day. He also congratulated the brides, wishing them a happy married life full of goodness, stressing their great responsibility in raising generations and building an effective family in society. He expressed his thanks for the kind invitation to share with his daughters who are about to get married their joy in receiving home appliances, and praising the role of the association and those in charge of it in cooperating with the governorate in implementing development projects. And services, and providing the necessary support to those who are unable.

The Governor of Fayoum also appreciated the efforts of civil society organizations and partner NGOs in supporting families in need and drawing a smile on the faces of those who are unable, especially in light of the difficult circumstances that countries of the world are going through, including Egypt, stressing that goodness will remain in Egypt, and in Fayoum Governorate and its people until the Day of Judgment, pointing out that such occasions are an embodiment of the meanings of social solidarity. The Governor also stressed the necessity of coming together and unifying efforts, so that we can overcome crises and achieve the rates of development that we aspire to.

Meanwhile, the Executive Director of the Foundation in Fayoum expressed her deep thanks to the Governor of Fayoum for his continuous support to NGOs, stressing that joint work is the true path to achieving sustainable development. She explained that the “One Joy, Two Joys” initiative is one of the initiatives launched by the Association to participate in the governorate’s celebrations of its National Day, and includes equipping 100 brides with a number of home appliances, a 45-piece clothing carton, a rug, and a blanket. The initiative also includes delivering 5,000 pieces of children’s clothing to a number of children. 700 families are the most cared for, pointing out that the Foundation has equipped more than 5,000 families to date, and the association has also distributed more than 150,000 pieces of clothing this year, believing that civil work is a societal responsibility that aims to draw a smile on the faces of the most cared for and those who are unable.
