Former Zamalek club star Mohamed Gamal revealed his point of view on the historical registration crisis that the club is suffering from, noting that the greatest responsibility lies with the members of the board of directors and the club president, pointing out that the lack of a permanent sponsor exacerbates the problem despite Zamalek’s great popularity.

Gamal explained during his interview on the “Red Line” program presented by journalist Mohamed Moussa on Al Hadath Al Youm channel, that some companies usually lean toward the more popular teams, such as Al-Ahly, which increases the difficulty of obtaining stable financing for the White Club.

He also revealed that the issue of the transfer of player Ahmed Al-Sayed “Zizou” was not resolved optimally due to his father’s intervention and his rejection of some offers, especially the Saudi offer, which could have solved the club’s financial problems and alleviated the registration crises.

Jamal stressed that the financial crisis and delayed liquidity directly affected the players, explaining that the priority should be to pay the salaries and dues of the players to maintain the basic structure of the team, instead of selling players to cover the financial shortfall, indicating that the current stage still faces great challenges and will not end easily due to the financial issues and huge amounts related to registration.
