The security services at the Ministry of Interior revealed the circumstances of a video clip that was circulated on social media, which included a tuk-tuk driver insulting a girl and destroying her phone due to a dispute between them over the fare in Sohag.

Details: A tuk-tuk driver was arrested for assaulting a girl and destroying her phone in Sohag

Upon examination, it was possible to identify the girl shown in the video clip as a student residing in the Tahta Police Station, and upon questioning her, she determined that on April 2nd, as she boarded a tuk-tuk, its driver asked her to pay more than the prescribed fare, and when she refused, he insulted her and destroyed her mobile phone when she tried to film it.

It was possible to identify and seize the tuk-tuk vehicle “without metal plates” and its driver (a farmer – resident in the center district), and when he was confronted, he admitted to committing the incident as referred to.

The vehicle was seized, and legal measures were taken against its driver.
