Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, received a phone call from President Adama Barrow, President of the Republic of The Gambia.
The official spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic stated that the call dealt with the distinguished bilateral relations between Egypt and Gambia, as Mr. President stressed Egypt’s keenness to advance bilateral cooperation in various fields, especially trade, investment and development, as well as strengthening partnership in the health sector, in continuation of the fruitful cooperation that culminated in the opening of the Egyptian Medical Center in the capital, Banjul, in December 2025.
Al-Sisi and Barrow discussed enhancing cooperation and coordinating positions regionally in a phone call
Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy, the official spokesman, explained that the Gambian President expressed his appreciation for the remarkable development in relations between the two countries, stressing his country’s aspiration to continue expanding the horizons of joint cooperation to serve the interests of the two brotherly peoples. The two presidents also agreed to continue coordination to enhance cooperation in the developmental and economic fields.
The official spokesman added that the call also touched on the latest developments in the regional situation, as Mr. President reviewed the Egyptian efforts aimed at restoring stability in the Middle East and reducing the repercussions of regional tensions.
The two leaders also discussed developments in the West African region, and ways to support peace, security and sustainable development on the African continent. For his part, President Barrow appreciated Egypt’s efforts to enhance regional stability, expressing his aspiration to deepen coordination between the two countries to maintain peace and security in the region.
