The Directorate of Supply and Internal Trade intensifies In Alexandria Its efforts to secure citizens’ needs for goods and govern prices in markets in preparation for Eid al-Fitr.

Engineer Jamal Ammar, Undersecretary of the Ministry, revealed the formation of a main operations room in the general office of the directorate, in addition to sub-operations rooms in each sub-supply department to follow up on the ration situation across the governorate during Eid al-Fitr.

Ammar stressed the continuation of monitoring campaigns on catering activities and markets, especially fresh and salted fish markets, noting the intensification of campaigns on bakeries, consumer complexes, gas depots, car fuel stations and markets to control the performance of the catering sector in the governorate.

He explained the continuation of the work of ration outlets, which are represented in branches of consumer complexes to display all the food commodities that the citizen needs in their various forms.

He added that fresh meat is priced at 310 pounds per kg, frozen poultry at 100 pounds per kg, and mixed Eid cakes are also offered at a price of 290 pounds per 2-kg box, indicating the continuation of disbursing the ration grant to those eligible.

He stressed the work of ration grocers and my association project outlets during the Eid holiday to provide services for disbursing ration courses and bread point differences to citizens, as well as continuing to disburse the ration grant to those eligible.

Ammar pointed out that the one-day markets are witnessing reductions in the prices of goods of up to 30%, given the quality and diversity of the exhibits, with the continued reductions, citizens’ confidence in them, and increased frequency of them.
