Omar Hassan Youssef, son of the late artist Hassan Youssef, sparked controversy on social media, after commenting on some citizens’ calls to get rid of street dogs.
Omar published on his Facebook account a post in which he criticized these calls, using a sharp style, where he called on critics of dogs to change their behavior instead of calling for their harm.
The opinions of followers were divided between supporters of his position calling for kindness to animals, and opponents of his method of expression, considering it inappropriate.
This comes in light of the continuing societal debate about how to deal with stray dogs, between humane solutions and more stringent ones.
