Initial investigations revealed details of a fire breaking out inside a boat on the Nile Corniche, but no human casualties were reported.
A boat fire on the Nile Corniche
The beginning was when a report was received from the rescue operations room stating that a fire had broken out in a boat on the Nile Corniche in the Ahl Masr promenade in the Boulak district. Immediately, civil protection forces moved in, supported by 7 fire engines and a special river launch.
Upon moving and examination, it was revealed that a fire broke out in the ceiling of the ground floor of the Ovid Club restaurant, as a result of maintenance work on the air conditioners and some distortions, and the fire spread to the second floor.
The civil protection men were able to impose a security cordon around the fire and prevent the fire from spreading. Cooling operations are being carried out by the civil protection forces, and the fire did not result in any casualties.
