The Helwan region witnessed a state of widespread controversy on social media, after conflicting video clips were circulated between a young man and a girl, in which they exchanged accusations and allegations regarding an incident of alleged harassment, before surveillance cameras revealed various details that increased the mystery of the scene.
Young man’s novel
The young man claimed, in a video he posted on his personal page, that while he was returning from work and passing through Mansour Street in the Helwan area, heading to a phone repair shop, he was surprised by 3 girls approaching him and starting to film him, while one of them screamed and accused him of harassment without justification.
He claimed that surveillance cameras surrounding the incident showed that he had not committed any wrongdoing, and that he was standing and talking with another person before the girls intervened, considering what happened to be an attempt to frame him.
The young man added: The incident is related to previous disputes, pointing out that the father and brother of one of the girls had previously assaulted him, and that he had obtained judicial rulings against them. He accused the other party of trying to blackmail him to pressure him to give up those cases, stressing that he had begun taking the necessary legal measures.
The girl’s novel
On the other hand, the girl responded via a video she posted on her account, confirming that the young man is her “cousin,” and that there are family disputes between them related to inheritance.
She claimed that the young man – according to her account – used to verbally assault her and attempt to assault her whenever he saw her in the Helwan area, explaining that she photographed him only to prove his presence in the area in front of the family members, after his repeated denial of this.
The girl categorically denied his accusation of harassment, stressing that she did not file any report in this regard, nor did she publish the video herself on social media, accusing the young man of defaming her and harming her reputation, especially after the incident was widely circulated.
She also indicated that the cases being discussed between the two parties are still pending before the courts, and that she has taken legal measures against him for what she described as defamation.
