Engineer Ayman Attia, Governor, said Alexandria The project to develop the Mosque Complex Square comes within the framework of an integrated cultural revival of the surrounding area because of its ancient history and great place in the hearts of citizens.
Details of the development of the mosque complex project
Attia explained that the development includes developing open courtyards, creating seating areas and prayer areas, and renovating the entire prayer square, in addition to service commercial areas, in addition to implementing landscaping works and developing the lighting system in the public site, in a way that restores the area’s cultural splendor and distinctive historical appearance while preserving its authentic heritage character.
This came during an inspection of the project to develop the mosque complex square in the Al-Morsi Abu Al-Abbas area in the Al-Jumrok neighborhood, as part of the ongoing field follow-up of development and service projects in the governorate.
The Governor of Alexandria, head of the Customs District, directed the rapid removal and transfer of the works surrounding the square and the vicinity of the mosque complex, to preserve the cultural appearance of the area and facilitate the movement of citizens and visitors, especially since it is one of the most important religious and tourist destinations in the governorate.
The Governor of Alexandria explained that the governorate is continuing to implement a comprehensive plan to develop markets and historical areas in a way that achieves a balance between preserving the city’s heritage character, raising the efficiency of services provided to citizens, and improving the quality of life there.
This came in the presence of Dr. Amira Yassin, Deputy Governor of Alexandria, Mohamed Salah, Assistant Secretary General of the Governorate, Engineer Maha Amin, Director of the Housing Directorate, and Walid Mansour, Head of the Customs District.
