I witnessed Meat pricesToday, Friday, March 6, 2026, there is a state of relative stability in markets and butcher shops, after the Council of Ministers’ local and international price portal announced the offering of quantities of meat at reduced prices through the Holding Company for Food Industries, as part of the state’s efforts to control markets and reduce the burdens on citizens.

- Lamb: 442 pounds per kilo
- Veal meat: 447 pounds per kilo
- Large kunduz meat: 390 pounds per kilo
- Local meat, Kanduz: 405 pounds per kilo
- Small kunduz meat: 410 pounds per kilo
- Veal meat with bones: 427 pounds per kilo
- Lamb with bones: 397 pounds per kilo
Government outlets have continued their pivotal role in achieving balance in the market during the past period, by offering fresh and imported meat at competitive prices, which contributed to alleviating the living pressures on Egyptian families.
Despite this temporary stability, expectations indicate that prices may rise again in the medium and long term, as a result of continuing pressures associated with rising global feed prices and production costs.
