The Directorate of Supply and Internal Trade in Fayoum Governorate announced the arrest of 58 various catering violations during intensive monitoring campaigns in various governorate centers, within the framework of tightening control over markets, controlling prices, and confronting commercial fraud.
The Supply Directorate’s campaigns resulted In Fayoum 34 kg of poultry, shish and sausage pieces of unknown origin, packed inside plastic bags without expiration dates or production data, were seized. The seized items were seized and the necessary legal measures were taken.
350 food packages were seized
350 packages of various food items (soft drinks, processed cheese, snacks, chips, and croissants) that were expired and unfit for human consumption were also seized inside a grocery store, in addition to a report on the sale of 12 small gas cylinders for more than the official price.
The campaigns also included seizing 100 packs of cigarettes of unknown origin without invoices, issuing a report to a food supply merchant for collecting 360 bags of pasta before putting them on the black market, in addition to issuing reports for not announcing prices and not having health certificates.
The campaigns also resulted in the issuance of 19 reports for municipal bakeries, which varied between lack of weight, non-compliance with specifications, lack of a sensitive scale, and lack of clean dough tools.
Engineer Gomaa Abdel Hafeez, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Supply in Fayoum, confirmed that the campaigns come in implementation of the directives of Dr. Sherif Farouk, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, and Dr. Mohamed Hani Ghoneim, Governor of Fayoum, to intensify oversight of markets and confront all forms of fraud and monopoly.
He pointed out the continuation of ration campaigns on a daily basis in bakeries, markets, supermarkets, gas depots, and gas stations, to ensure that merchants adhere to the prescribed prices and the availability of goods to citizens, while taking deterrent legal measures against violators.
