He said Hossam Ashourthe former Al-Ahly star, said that he achieved a busy career inside the Red Castle, stressing that the Portuguese Manuel Jose was the main reason for his brilliance and continuity with the team.
He added in television statements that he won 39 championships with Al-Ahly, noting that Jose gave him confidence from the start, despite the presence of senior players in the same position, as the coach stuck to him and preferred him over other names.
He explained that he was raised within Al-Ahly to focus only on the field, away from the limelight and social media, stressing that the league players currently care about “the show” in an exaggerated manner.
He added that Jose preferred him over players like Mohamed Shawky and Hassan Mustafa, and he always assured him that he was performing beyond his age.

Regarding his international career, Hossam Ashour said that he did not get enough opportunity with the Egyptian national team under the leadership of Hassan Shehata, stressing that he does not know the reason for his exclusion despite his participation in a large number of African tournaments.
He pointed out that he was subjected to great injustice by not continuing to join the national team, stressing that if he returned in time, he would speak with Hassan Shehata to find out the reasons for his exclusion.
He revealed the scenes of his confrontations with Mahmoud Abdel Razek Shikabala, stressing that Jose was assigning him to closely monitor him, and was demanding that he focus on him only on the field.
He explained that he was studying Shikabala’s movements well before the matches, stressing that he succeeded in reducing his danger, as he was unable to score or shine in any match during which he was monitoring him.
