On this occasion, the Grand Mufti of the Kingdom extended the highest verses of congratulations and blessings to King Abdullah II, Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, the Hashemite family, and the Jordanian people, praying to God Almighty to preserve Jordan as an oasis of security and stability, and to return the occasion to the Arab and Islamic nations with goodness, right and blessings.
The Council for Fatwa, Research and Islamic Studies, whose membership includes 11 scholars and jurists headed by the Mufti, adopts specific legal and scientific standards to prove the beginning of the lunar months, including verifying the birth of the crescent before sunset on the twenty-ninth, and its absence after sunset, taking into account the possibility of sighting in terms of duration of stay, height and lengthening, in addition to proving sighting with the naked eye or through modern technical means in the Kingdom or countries with which it shares part of the night.
