Major General Dr. Alaa Abdel Moati, Governor of Gharbia, conducted a field tour inside the “Welcome Ramadan” exhibition held on Al-Bahr Al-Mardum Street in the city of Santa, to follow up on the availability of basic goods and ensure that exhibitors adhere to the announced reductions, within the framework of the governorate’s plan to control the markets and reduce the burden on citizens. This came in the presence of Engineer Nasser Afifi, Director of the Supply Directorate in Gharbia.
During his inspection of the various sections of the exhibition, which include basic food commodities, Ramadan yams, dates, sugar, rice, oils, pasta, legumes, and dairy products, in addition to meat, poultry, eggs, and detergents, the governor directed that the price of table eggs be reduced from 125 to 110 pounds, after it became clear that they were higher than the prices offered in other exhibitions that he had previously visited, stressing the necessity of unifying prices at the governorate level and not burdening the citizen with any additional burdens.
Gharbia Governor: We will not allow a single pound increase for the citizen.. The reductions are continuing and the oversight is daily
The Governor of Gharbia personally reviewed the weights for a number of commodities, including rice and sugar, to ensure their conformity with the announced weights, stressing that adherence to the price and weight together is an inherent right of the citizen that cannot be tolerated, and that the executive agencies will continue daily traffic to ensure complete discipline within the exhibition.
The Governor of Gharbia directed that the meat displayed be fresh daily, and that the appropriate quantities continue to be pumped throughout the duration of the exhibition, while emphasizing the stability of the announced prices and not increasing them under any circumstances.
The Governor of Gharbia met with a number of citizens and listened to their comments about prices and availability of goods, stressing that oversight continues and that prices will remain fixed throughout the exhibition period to ensure the citizen’s full right.
Major General Dr. Alaa Abdel Moati confirmed that the governorate continues to expand in holding “Welcome Ramadan” exhibitions and “one-day markets” in all centers and cities, with continuous field follow-up, to ensure market stability and the provision of basic goods with appropriate quality and fair prices that meet the needs of citizens.
