American and Israeli officials told the New York Times that Iran’s ability to strangle the Strait of Hormuz and expand the scope of the war was greater than the expectations of the United States and Israel, as they described it.

Closing the Strait of Hormuz

The newspaper reported that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ignored the advice of US President Donald Trump and the Commander of Central Command, Admiral Brad Cooper, and targeted Iranian oil depots.

The officials revealed that Netanyahu’s vision was that the burning of oil tanks would create chaos within the Iranian leadership, and the result of the bombing of Iranian oil tanks was Iran’s attack on oil facilities in the region.

The sources added to the New York Times that Iran’s ability to strangle the Strait of Hormuz and expand the scope of the war is greater than we expected, indicating that the Revolutionary Guard may retain nuclear fuel to negotiate with and push the United States and Israel to retreat.

The sources explained in their statements that estimates are still that the war will take from 4 to 6 weeks.
