The Iranian Tasnim Agency reported that the security authorities succeeded in arresting 10 foreigners, including 4 on charges of espionage, and 3 who planned to carry out field operations in the northeast of the country.
Later, the Israeli intelligence service (Mossad) sent a message directly addressed to Iranian citizens.
The message, which was published in Persian on an official Mossad channel on Telegram, included an open appeal to Iranian citizens under the title “We will return you to the days of glory.” The agency called on Iranians to communicate with it and provide information, pictures and video clips.
The message said: “Our Iranian brothers and sisters, you are not alone! We have created a private and very safe Telegram channel for you. Together we will restore Iran to its glory. Share with us photos and videos of your just struggle against the regime. Most of all, take care of yourselves!”
This comes in light of a broad military escalation initiated by both the United States and Israel against Iran, as US President Donald Trump announced that the operation aims to undermine Tehran’s military capabilities and lead to the overthrow of the regime.
The US Department of Defense called the operation “Mad Fury.” It is the first of its kind since the invasion of Iraq in 2003 in terms of the declared effort to change a political regime in the region, and it was preceded by military preparations that included a large naval and air buildup.
For its part, the occupation army began the attack under the name “The Lion’s Roar,” targeting sites in the heart of the capital, Tehran, including the vicinity of the headquarters of the Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, in addition to the presidential complex and a number of government buildings.
Tehran responded by launching missiles toward Israel and Arab countries that host American military bases.
